Payment for class sessions is required prior to or on the first day of class. Your space in the class is not held until payment is received. Payments are usually made in full, but if you require a payment plan, please contact us.
You can pay for your classes in advance with PayPal or e-Transfer, or you may pay with cash, cheque, or credit card on the first day of class. Unfortunately, we cannot accept payments via debit/Interac. There will be a $25 fee, in addition to your account balance, for all returned cheques.
All accounts must be in good standing, with all previous balances paid in full, in order to attend classes. Seraka Studios reserves the right to collect any unpaid balances or delinquent accounts through the appropriate means, including collection agencies and legal action. In addition to the balance due, you will also be responsible for any professional fees we are charged for these services.
Receipts for payments are available upon request and will be sent via email – we do not print or issue paper receipts.
Class prices will vary by offering, and are subject to change without notice. Please read the class descriptions carefully to get this session’s pricing and information.
If you need to withdrawal from a class, workshop, or series please contact us as soon as possible. Refunds are available until the first day of class. No refunds are possible for withdrawal on or after the first day of class. You will be responsible for any and all fees if you chose to withdrawal on or after the first day of class.
In some circumstances, we may be able to transfer payments that you have made to another class, workshops, series, or session. Each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but there is no guarantee that a transfer will be possible.
If you miss a Technique class, you are welcome to attend another Technique class at or below your current level at any point in the session. We cannot offer make up classes in future sessions, or for missed workshops or classes in our Creativity series or Fundamentals series.
In the case of poor weather, classes may be cancelled. Updates on these closures will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page, and the final decision will be made at least 1 hour prior to the first class of the day. We will not email or call students individually unless the closure is unforeseen, or the decision is made with less than 1 hour notice. Classes will be rescheduled if possible.
You may progress to the next level of Technique classes after a successful review with your instructor. If you wish to be assessed for the next level, please contact us. Please note that level progression is based on technical ability, not your duration of studies or time spent in a particular level.
Reviews take about 10 minutes. Your instructor will ask that you demonstrate proficiency in a number of isolations, movements, and steps. You will also be asked to play two finger cymbal patterns at your own pace, without music. Your instructor will offer you feedback, advice, and suggestions for improvement. A review does not guarantee that you will be approved, but it is a great place to start if you’re interested in progressing.
Class passes are available in 3- and 7-class punch cards. A pass is valid for one dancer for one session, and must be presented for each class that you attend.
Passes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-replaceable. Passes cannot be shared or transferred to another dancer. Unused classes cannot be transferred to a new session. Retroactive use of your pass is not permitted, so please pay the drop-in fee if you do not have your pass with you at the time of your class.
