Payment for class sessions is required prior to or on the first day of class. Your space in the class is not held until payment is received, and you may lose your spot in class if your account is not in good standing. Payments are usually made in full, but if you require a payment plan, please contact us.
You can pay for your classes in advance, or in person on the first day of class, in the following ways:
All accounts must be in good standing, with all previous balances paid in full, in order to attend classes. Seraka Studios reserves the right to collect any unpaid balances or delinquent accounts through the appropriate means, including collection agencies and legal action. In addition to the balance due, you will also be responsible for any professional fees we are charged for these services.
Receipts for payments are available upon request and will be sent via email – we do not print or issue paper receipts.
Class prices will vary by offering, and are subject to change without notice. Please read the class descriptions carefully to get this session’s pricing and information.
Registrations are generally non-transferable and non-refundable. Registrations cannot be shared or transferred to another dancer. Unused classes cannot be transferred to a new term.
If you need to withdrawal from a class, series, or workshop please contact us as soon as possible.
You will be responsible for any and all fees if you chose to withdrawal on or after the first day of class.
In some circumstances, we may be able to transfer payments that you have made to another class, series, or workshop. Each request will be handled on a case-by-case basis, but there is no guarantee that a transfer will be possible.
If you miss a class, you are welcome to attend another class at or below your current level at any point in the term. We cannot offer make up classes in future terms, or for missed workshops.
In the case of poor weather, classes may be cancelled. Updates on these closures will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page, and the final decision will be made at least 1 hour prior to the first class of the day.
We will attempt to email students with an update, using the email submitted with registration. We will not call students individually unless the closure is unforeseen, or the decision is made with less than 1 hour notice.
Classes will be rescheduled, if possible. Rescheduling classes depend on studio availability, and are not guaranteed.
You may progress to the next level of classes after a successful review with your instructor. If you wish to be assessed for the next level, please speak with your instructor after class. Level progression is based on technical ability, not your duration of studies or time spent in a particular level.
Reviews take about 10-15 minutes. Your instructor will ask that you demonstrate proficiency in a number of isolations, movements, and steps. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency in finger cymbals if progressing to an advanced class. Your instructor will offer you feedback, advice, and suggestions for improvement. A review does not guarantee that you will advance to the next level, but it is a great place to start if you’re interested in progressing.
