Location: LSPU Hall, 3 Victoria Street, St. John’s NL

Seraka Dance Company is producing a new show, “Elements”, and are looking for dancers to be part of the growing cast. Exploring the dynamic intensity of nature through music and movement, “Elements” tells the persistent, cyclical story of creation and destruction on Earth. 

The show will be structured with approximately 18 pieces as one collective work in 4 parts or “vignettes.” All pieces are choreographed and directed by Seraka Dance Company. Dancers will be able to participate in up to 11 pieces, as desired and able. 

Experience with belly dance and contemporary or lyrical styles of movement is considered an asset, however a variety of skill levels and backgrounds are welcome. Dancers must be age 18+

DANCERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO

  • Play Nice – be comfortable working collaboratively with other dancers.

  • Learn Things – be open to direction and feedback for corrections.

  • Get Weird – be willing to take some risks (creatively) to explore new movements.

  • Dance – be able to rehearse up to 2 hours at a time, and complete self-study between rehearsals as needed.

  • Be Kind – assume best intentions, and avoid drama-llama attitudes and behaviours.
